It is now one week since The Open began, ending with Padraig Harrington lifted the Claret Jug for the second time, but this weekend has plenty of golf going on too including the Russian Open Championship and The Senior Open Championship.

The Russian Open was established in 1996 as a tournament on the second-tier Challenge Tour and was added to the European Tour schedule in 2003. From 2003 to 2005, it was an official money event on both tours. Defending champion, Per-Ulrik Johansson will bid to make history by becoming the first player to successfully defend the Championship. He would also become the first Swedish player to successfully defend two different European Tour titles, having won back-to-back European Open titles in 1996 and 1997.
