Mizuno MX-950 and MP-57 Irons

We’ve reduced the price of Mizuno MX-950 Irons by 50%, which I’m sure you’ll agree is a fantastic saving on a fantastic set of irons (well, you might not know they’re a fantastic set…  I’ll get onto that in a moment).  We’ve also reduced the price of Mizuno MP-57 Irons by a massive £300!

Mizuno MX-950 Irons are a true hybrid set (mix of hybrids, deep cavity mid irons and good looking short irons) and have been designed to make the game easier and more enjoyable for those who struggle to hit traditional long irons consistently, but who don’t want to play with a set of clubs which look like shovels!

The whole set is forged like the rest of Mizuno’s super soft iron range so expect great feel without the difficulty or worry of hitting a more demanding club.

Mizuno MP-57 Irons are the most forgiving MP clubs the company has ever made. Each iron is crafted with the usual Mizuno attention paid to every little detail being perfect. The Mizuno MP-57 heads are classically shaped at address, with quite a strong thick top edge and a lovely silky smooth high chrome finish. The beauty of the set lies in the deeper cavity back which allows extra weight to be positioned around the golf club’s perimeter helping make them more forgiving when your shots don’t hit the centre of the face.

They sit between the MP-60’s and MX-25’s in terms of playability so their likely to suit most golfers upto about a 12 handicapper. If you’ve been ummming and arghhhing for ages over whether to get a better player set of irons these could be the answer you’ve been looking for.

So what are you waiting for? We’ve only got a limited number in stock and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

New Golf Accessories for 2009

We may be 3 months into 2009, but that doesn’t mean that we’ve seen all the new product releases for this year.

Alright, some of the new golf accessories available this year might just be slight variations on last year’s themes, but would your game be the same without a Sesame Street Headcover?

Seriously though, accessories can help you succeed on the course.  You might have most of the aspects of the game covered, but by carrying a lighter golf bag or an umbrella on the off chance it rains or even a golf towel can give you that extra boost of energy, keep you dry and have your clubs looking clean which will give you more confidence playing the game.

At Golfbuyitonline, you’ll find a massive range of golf accessories including headcovers, golf bags, accessory bags, umbrellas, towels and so much more, all at unbeatably low Internet prices.

New Nike SQ Dymo Drivers

Fans of Nike golf equipment will be rejoicing now that they can get their mitts on the latest equipment from the Tiger Woods stable.  A new range of drivers, fairway woods, irons, wedges and putters have been released for the new season.

At the moment though, it’s the drivers that have grabbed our attention…

Enter, the Sasquatch SQ Dymo Driver and Sasquatch SQ Dymo STR-8 FIT.

In terms of technology, the most ground-breaking of the two is the STR-8 FIT, which joins a growing band of drivers that can be adjusted to suit the golfer’s preference, unlike most other offerings the STR-8 FIT offers the chance to adjust the face angle in what it calls ‘eight different ways to hit it straight’.

Dymo stands for ‘Dynamic Moment of Inertia’ which, says Nike, combines all the elements of driver performance, including head size and geometry, centre of gravity, loft and lie angles as well as spin ratios to offer the optimal performance for each club.

The main design feature in both models is the size of the Power Bow Weighting – different in each loft option. The weighting is smallest in the lower-lofted 9.5-degree model and features a higher face, with a more forward centre of gravity, to promote a more penetrating trajectory with less spin.

The higher-lofted 10.5-, 11.5- and 13-degree models have the weight progressively increasing, moving the centre of gravity further and lower back from a shallower face to create higher launch angles and spin rates.

The cosmetics of the Dymo models are a considerable improvement on their predecessors.  Nike has toned down clubhead cosmetics, dispensing with the garish bright yellow on the sole of the Sumo clubs and introducing a more pleasing black and brushed steel with a subtle, classier red logo. The contrast between the Power Bow weighting on the crown of both models has also been blended making it much less distracting.

TaylorMade R9 Drivers

TaylorMade

A specially engineered wrench allows players to change the face angle, lie and loft into one of eight different positions. Importantly, when the face angle closes the loft increases to ensure optimum carry. As the face angle opens the loft decreases to deliver a controlled, penetrating ball flight.

There are also three weight ports in the head (positioned in the heel, centre and toe) and it comes with one 16 gram and two one gram weights. Players can use the same wrench to change the position of the weights promoting different flight shapes.

By combining the adjustability of the face with moveable weight technology, the TaylorMade R9 has 24 different options so that every player should find a set-up that feels comfortable at address and delivers a consistent shape and trajectory.

The triangular shaped head of the R9 is just 420cc which TaylorMade describes as ‘modern and traditional’.

Cobra S9-1 Wins Again

Geoff Ogilvy beat Englishman Paul Casey 4&3 to win the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in Tuscon, Arizona.

Casey made a shaky start and was unable to get close enough to his Australian opponent to put any pressure on him.Three up after 18 holes, Ogilvy, the 2006 champion and 2007 runner-up, forced home his advantage to take the $1.4m first prize.

Was the reason for his win the new Cobra S9-1 Driver?

The Cobra S9-1 driver range is headed up by the Cobra S9-1 Pro S and Pro D. The Pro S driver is  tuned to give extreme-ball-speed players high launch, low spin and added workability to optimise their distance and accuracy.

The Cobra S9-1 Pro D, used by Ogilvy has been designed for very accomplished players who need exacting tools to fully maximize their high level of skill. The S9-1 Pro D features a deep face design that generates high launch and low spin and looks much smaller to the eye, giving top players the ability to really work the ball.

The Cobra S9-1 F is next in line, designed to optimise fast-ball-speed players’ distance and accuracy by providing a slight draw-bias ball flight, high launch and low-to-mid spin.

The S9-1 range is then completed by the Cobra S-91 M Driver, tuned to give moderate-ball-speed players unmatched distance and forgiveness, via maximum-draw-bias head design and lighter shafts, promoting extra-high launch and mid spin.

If the Cobra S9-1 is just that little bit out of reach, why not check out our Cobra Clearance Section?  You’ll find some of Cobra’s elite equipment at extremely reduced prices.

New Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x Golf Balls – Available Now!

They’re finally here!

The arrival of the new Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls from Titleist is the most exciting news about golf balls since the arrival of the previous Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls.

Since taking the golf industry by storm in the fall of 2000, the three-piece multi-layer Pro V1 continues to serve as the high performance standard by which all other golf balls are compared and measured.  The new 2009 Pro V1 maximises distance, durability and performance, and benefits a wide range of golfers with varying launch conditions.

If a three-piece golf ball isn’t enough, the Titleist Pro V1x utilises a four-piece dual core construction that lowers spin and maximises distance.  An improved high performance Urethane Elastomer cover delivers improved cover durability, while its Tour-proven high coverage 332 dimple design with Staggered Wave parting line generates penetrating trajectory and consistent ball flight.  Utilising Titleist’s industry-leading multi-component technology and manufacturing process excellence, the new Pro V1x is designed to optimise ball flight and increase driver distance.  The spin control and flight characteristics have made Pro V1x the ball of choice for many of the game’s longest players and the new Pro V1x will surpass its predecessor.
