Titleist player Zach Johnson claims victory in Texas

The Titleist Pro V1 rose to the top of the leaderboard across worldwide tours this weekend, led by Zach Johnson, who trusted the superior feel and performance of Titleist to claim the Valero Texas Open on the USPGA Tour.  Johnson followed his incredible third round 10-under par 60 with a level par 70 on Sunday to finish on 15-under par, 265, before a birdie at the first extra hole secured victory. Johnson’s victory was his second of the year following his Sony Open triumph, and his second consecutive win at the Valero Texas Open. Johnson was joined at the top of the leaderboard in San Antonio by Titleist Brand Ambassador Bill Haas and Pro V1 loyalist Paul Goydos, who finished tied for third on 266, 14-under par, respectively.

Johnson’s (Pro V1x, 909 D2 driver, 909 F2 fairway, 909H hybrid, AP2 irons, Vokey Design Wedges) victory was the sixth of his career and propels him to the top of the FedEx Cup standings. In addition to leading Johnson to victory, Titleist was also the most played golf ball at the Valero Texas Open with 99 players, more than three times the nearest competitor with 30. Titleist also topped the counts for wedges with 146 players, and putters with 64 players.
