Titleist Introduces New Advanced Performance Irons

New Titleist AP1 and AP2 Irons Provide Enhanced Performance with Improved Feel

Building upon the high technology design and resounding success of the original AP irons, Titleist introduces two new high performance iron products for avid golfers.  The new Titleist AP1 and AP2 are multi-material, dual cavity irons that take the design mission of “Advanced Performance You Can Feel” to new heights.

“The new AP1 and AP2 irons embody significant improvements in feel, forgiveness and shot control to what had already been recognized as a revolutionary step forward in iron design,” said Steve Pelisek, GM Titleist Golf Clubs.  “The new AP1 and AP2 irons offer the most successful marriage of playability and forgiveness, and traditional looks, feel and feedback available in the market today.  Along with the introduction of the new MB and CB forged irons, Titleist offers the most comprehensive range of irons to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of serious golfers.”

The concept for the original Advanced Performance irons arose as a result of research that indicated serious golfers want performance with great feel, not performance at the expense of feel.  The new models retain the dual cavity design and multi-material construction that has been the key to the success of the AP irons. The new ‘Tuned Feel System’ employs new technologies and materials in the back cavity to take feel to a new level.

The new Tuned Feel System is a co-molded medallion of soft elastomer and aluminium plate.  This insert has been specifically designed to improve the sound and feel of each new iron.  For the thinner face, larger cavity AP1 a hotter, more lively feel has been enhanced.  For the new AP2 a softer, more solid feel is achieved.

Extensive improvements to the new AP1 structure include reducing the face thickness to provide enhanced heel, toe, and deep weighting to the frame and moving the tungsten nickel material to the sole resulting in increased stability and forgiveness.  Subtle refinements to the new AP2 have created performance gains in feel, sound, and turf interaction.

The new Titleist AP irons have received instantaneous approval across the worldwide professional tours. In recent weeks several players, including Zach Johnson, Nick Watney and Ben Curtis have all put the new AP2 irons in play.

The AP irons are available in both right and left hand, beginning November 1 2009. Suggested retail prices are still to be confirmed.

Dont worry you wont have to remember this date, here at golfbuyitonline we will alert you nearer the time.

Mizuno Irons

Mizuno is unquestionably the world’s leading iron forger. But what is that reputation built on? Mizuno make their irons out of bars of mild carbon steel; the bars are 10in long and about one inch in diameter. The metal is heated until it is red hot, then hammered and crafted into shape. Mizuno generally use mild carbon steel. This process gives a club greater consistency and performance. But it is more expensive than the more common casting method which can lead to more inconsistent performance.

Why? Because when the metal is poured into the mould, it always traps tiny bubbles inside the metal structure which can make the face inconsistent and in extreme cases leads to cracking and breaking.

This is why Mizuno forged irons are still a very popular choice for both professionals and amateurs.

At the moment we have a fantastic offer on all Mizuno Irons. When purchasing a set of Mizuno Irons from us you will receive a free wedge. The type of wedge you receive will be dependent upon the set you purchase.

Wet or Cold!!! Dont worry help is at hand!!!

No matter how well prepared you are, playing in the rain eventually impacts on your gloves and grips. Unless of course you’re fortunate enough to have the services of a caddy and an endless supply of fresh dry towels. For most of us, the best way to maintain a grip on the club is to dig out the hood from the depths of the golf bag, drape a towel inside the umbrella and hope to keep dry for as long as possible. However, help is at hand in the form of the RainGrip® Extreme glove from FootJoy.

When grips are getting damp (not to mention soaked) and you have to step out from under your umbrella on to the tee and into the elements, RainGrip enables you to hang-on tight through impact again and again. It’s FibreSof™ Microfiber palm working overtime to help keep you focussed on your game and not whether you can hold onto the club.

RainGrip Extreme is available in left hand sizes for the right handed payer and right for lefties or for those who wish to get a grip on their wet-weather golf game with both hands, it comes in pairs.

If there’s one thing worse than lack of grip in the wet, it’s lack of grip and feel in the cold. Once again, FootJoy have it covered. The Golf Mitt is a great option between shots (and FJ Winter Mitts are as good as they come) but for keeping the circulation going when the temperature is dropping, the best option is the WinterSof® glove. Sold in pairs, they’re so thermally effective, that they often become a favourite both on and off the course.

Nike SQ Dymo STR8-Fit Driver

The New Nike Story

Nike Golf has introduced two new drivers, the Nike SQ DYMO STR8-FIT and Nike SQ DYMO² STR8-FIT, that are destined to revolutionise the way golfers can shape their tee shots to ensure maximum distance and pinpoint accuracy.

Working on the premise that the longest distance between two points is a straight line, the STR8-FIT technology gives golfers the best chance of hitting their longest, straightest drives by offering eight options to customise the position of the clubface.

The angle at which the clubface makes contact with the ball is the key factor in determining the direction the ball travels, as well as impacting on the shot shape, be it a draw, a fade or dead straight. Most golfers develop a consistent shot pattern over time that is hard to correct through technique alone, which is why the SQ DYMO STR8-FIT and Nike SQ DYMO² STR8-FIT drivers offer the perfect solution for those players who want to reduce the effects of slices or hooks, or promote a draw or a fade, without having to make changes to their grooved swings.

STR8-FIT technology allows the clubhead to be manually orientated into eight different positions to produce the desired shot shape and provide the most efficient means of hitting the ball not only straighter, but longer. There are three different clubhead positions for a closed clubface, which encourages shots to be shaped to the left; two positions for a neutral clubface, which allows the ball to be shaped in either direction, and three open clubface positions, which encourages shots to be shaped to the right.

Clubface angles range from a neutral position of zero degrees, to both one and two degrees, closed or open. In each clubhead position the lie angle also changes, providing the golfer further opportunity to optimise comfort and performance. This unique system allows golfers to self-customise their driver like never before, and to offer shot-shaping ability for all levels of player. The SQ DYMO and SQ DYMO² drivers draw upon all the technological benefits that made the original SUMO and SUMO² drivers so successful, including confidence inspiring square and round geometry to offer maximum control and distance.

The standard shaft option is the Nike Golf UST Proforce AXIV Core (available in weights of 59 grams, 69 grams and 79 grams), which features a strengthening core material for an extremely stable environment at impact, making it easier to swing the club faster and remain in complete control of the club head at all times.

Keep Fit for Golf

Taking good care of yourself can help you stay injury free whilst playing a round of golf. With the immense amount of money at stake in golf today players are pushing their bodies the limits. The mechanics of the golf swing have become complex therefore pushing the boundaries. As sport golf is one of the most demanding sports there is around. At every stage of the swing all of the body’s major muscle groups asked to perform unnatural and repetitive actions meaning that the chance of injury when playing golf is substantially high. That why it is imperative to keep yourself fit and healthy and if your experience any pain of any kind it should be checked out.

The most common complaints among amateur golfers is back pain. Often this is due to posture. You should stand parallel to the line of the ball with your feet positioned directly below each of your shoulders. Take the club and hold it out straight in front of you and then slowly lower it, bending from the hips as it descends, until the club head is resting on the ground. It should be noted here that the action of bending is coming from the hips – do not bend your back, it should be straight, providing a central line around which the rest of the upper body can manoeuvre smoothly and efficiently during the swing action.

TITLEIST UNVEILS NEW FOUR-MODEL FAMILY OF SCOTTY CAMERON CALIFORNIA PUTTERS

Validated on the most competitive proving grounds – the worldwide professional golf tours – Titleist advances the Scotty Cameron tradition of crafting modern classics with the introduction of the Scotty Cameron California putter line.  In addition, Cameron adds three new models to its popular Studio Select line.

Scotty Cameron California putters were born from timeless, tour-proven designs and the modern weighting technology that has made Scotty Cameron Studio Select putters so successful.  The Select technology Cameron introduced with the original Studio Select putter line that allows the balancing of putter head weight with shaft length, has been incorporated into the new California line of putters as well, providing a wider range of choices for length and weight to enhance performance for a wide range of putting strokes.

“I am extremely excited about the early acceptance and feedback that I have received about the California family of putters,” said Master Putter Craftsman, Scotty Cameron.  “This new line brings modern playability and customization to some of my favorite designs from my early Classics and Handmade models.  Players who prefer the more flowing, less geometric lines of the Coronado or the Del Mar are now going to find that they don’t have to sacrifice performance.  With the wide range of weight and length options that we now have available, players can get a perfect fit for their stroke as well as their eye.”

Cameron California putters are precision milled from soft 303 stainless steel. The new line features four models representative of towns in California – Coronado, Monterey, Sonoma and Del Mar – characterized by blade as well as mallet-style heads and two different neck styles. Available in multiple length, lie and headweight options, players can choose a Cameron California putter with the appearance they prefer, the length and weight they need, and a neck configuration that provides the proper amount of toe flow during the stroke. The California line is distinguished by a unique “Honey Dipped” rich bronze finish that looks great in natural light, while reducing glare.

In addition, in response to feedback from tour players, Titleist has updated the 2009 Studio Select line with the addition of the Newport 2.5, Squareback 2 and Fastback 1.5 models.  The three will replace the current Newport 1.5, Newport 2.7 and Fastback 1 in the Studio Select stable.
