Spectacular Sunday for Scott as he Trusts Titleist to Win Again in Texas
Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott storms through the field to win the Valero Texas Open
Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott claimed his seventh PGA Tour victory with a stunning display over the final 36 holes. Following heavy rain on Friday, the final 36 holes were played on Sunday and Scott trusted the feel and playability of Titleist equipment throughout his bag to combine twelve birdies and one eagle in closing rounds of 66 and 67. Scott’s 274 total, 14-under par, was enough to give him a one shot victory for his seventh career PGA Tour title and sees him enter the winners circle for the second time in six months following his win in the Australian Open in December. Remarkably Scott’s last three PGA Tour victories have come in Texas, having won the Houston Open in 2007 and the Byron Nelson two years ago.
Scott trusted Titleist from tee-to-green for his victory at TPC San Antonio, including the Pro V1 golf ball, 909 D3 driver, 909 F2 fairway, 909H hybrid, new MB irons, Vokey Spin Milled Wedges and Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2. As well as being the choice of the winner in Texas, the majority of the field at the Valero Texas Open trusted the #1 ball in golf, with 97 players placing their faith in the Pro V1 or Pro V1x ball, compared to 22 players for the nearest competitor. Titleist also topped the counts for iron sets, sand, lob and approach wedges and putters.
Elsewhere, on the Nationwide Tour, Pro V1x loyalist Justin Hicks claimed the BMW Charity Pro-Am ahead of Titleist Brand Ambassador Chris Kirk and three others, for his second career Nationwide Tour victory. On the LPGA Tour, the winner trusted the Pro V1 to claim the Bell Micro LPGA Classic at the third play-off hole from Pro V1x loyalist Brittany Lincicome, topping a leaderboard which included five Titleist golf ball loyalists among the top-6. On the Champions Tour, Dan Forsman trusted Titleist from tee-to-green to claim the Regions Charity Classic from Pro V1 loyalist Peter Senior and one other. On the Japan Tour, Toru Taniguchi (Pro V1x) claimed the Japan PGA Championship for his sixteenth career JGTO Tour win, ahead of a top five that included four Titleist golf ball loyalists. On the China Tour, Li Chao (Pro V1x) won the second China PGA Champions Tour event in Zhuhai ahead of a field where nine of the eleven players who finished in the top-10 and ties trusted Titleist for their success. These victories take Titleist’s 2010 worldwide golf ball win count to 47, compared to just 10 for the nearest competitor.
A second victory for Titleist Brand Ambassador Adam Scott in six months, as well as a host of other victories for Pro V1 players across worldwide professional tours, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist for their success.
