Noh and Villegas Trust Titleist to Top Leaderboards Around the World
Titleist Brand Ambassador Noh Seung-yul becomes the youngest professional champion in European Tour history and Camilo Villegas claims the Honda Classic with the legendary Pro V1.
Titleist Brand Ambassador Noh Seung-yul and Titleist Pro V1 loyalist Camilo Villegas continued Titleist’s impressive start to the 2010 season as they claimed victories on the European and PGA Tours respectively. Noh birdied the 72nd hole of the Maybank Malaysian Open to claim his maiden European Tour victory by one shot with a 14-under par total of 274 and, in doing so, entered the European Tour history books as the youngest ever professional champion at just 18 years and 281 days old. On the PGA Tour, stylish Colombian, Camilo Villegas fired a fourth consecutive round in the 60’s to claim a five stroke victory and his third PGA Tour career win at the Honda Classic.
South Korean, Noh trusted the playability and precision of Titleist equipment throughout his bag to finish top of a leaderboard in which every one of the top five players trusted a Titleist golf ball for their success. Pro V1x loyalist K.J. Choi finished one shot behind the teenager on 13-under par following a final round 69, with Titleist Brand Ambassador Søren Hansen (Pro V1x) and Titleist golf ball loyalists Rhys Davies (Pro V1) and Kiradech Aphibarnrat (Pro V1x) finishing tied for third place one shot further back. Noh’s equipment included the legendary Pro V1x golf ball, 909D3 driver, 909F3 fairway, New MB irons, Vokey Spin Milled pitching, sand and lob wedges and Scotty Cameron putter. As well as being the choice of the champion, Titleist golf balls were also the choice of the majority of the field with 102 players compared to 23 for the nearest competitor. In addition, Titleist also topped the counts for irons and ranked first in sand, lob and approach wedges respectively.
In Florida, Camilo Villegas trusted the feel and control of the Pro V1 to fire a final round 2-under par 68 and claim a five stroke victory at the Honda Classic. Having shared the lead after the second round, following two consecutive rounds of 66, Villegas never looked back as he fired rounds of 67 and 68 over the weekend to claim an emphatic win. As well as topping the leaderboard, Titleist golf balls were the choice of the majority of the field at PGA National, with 89 players putting their trust in the #1 ball in golf, compared to 17 for the nearest competitor. Titleist also topped the counts for irons, sand, lob and approach wedges, and putters respectively. Villegas’ victory was the eighth for a Titleist golf ball loyalist in the first ten events on the 2010 PGA Tour, and takes the Titleist worldwide win count for 2010 to 23, more than five times the nearest competitor.
A historical maiden European Tour victory for Titleist Ambassador Noh Seung-yul and an impressive first victory of 2010 for Pro V1 loyalist Camilo Villegas, continues to prove that the world’s best players opt for the matchless performance of Titleist for their success.

Westwood Leads all Pro V1 Top-5 to be Crowned European #1
Titleist golf ball loyalist Lee Westwood races away from the pack to win Dubai World Championship
Lee Westwood trusted the iconic Titleist Pro V1x to claim the second European Tour Order of Merit title of his career after recording a sensational 6-shot victory at the season ending Dubai World Championship. Westwood’s 23-under par, 265 total, included a course record 8-under par 64 on Sunday, which saw him finish ahead of fellow Titleist golf ball player Ross McGowan (Pro V1x) and Titleist Ambassador Rory McIlroy (Pro V1x), who finished second and third respectively. Completing the all Pro V1 top-5 in Dubai were Padraig Harrington (Pro V1x) and Geoff Ogilvy (Pro V1) who finished tied fourth on 14-under par 274.
Westwood enjoyed a total of thirteen top-10 finishes throughout the 2009 Race to Dubai including third place finishes at both The Open and USPGA Championships and victory at the Portugal Masters. Westwood follows in the footsteps of Titleist Ambassador Robert Karlsson who also trusted the feel and control of the Pro V1 to be crowned European #1 in 2008 as Titleist golf balls continue to be the choice of champions. As well as being the ball of choice for each of the top 5 players on the final leaderboard, the Pro V1 was the preferred choice of the field at the Dubai World Championship with 33 players trusting Titleist, compared to 9 for the nearest competitor,
20-year old Rory McIlroy narrowly missed out on becoming the second youngest European #1 in Tour history, but his top three finish in Dubai secured second place in the 2009 Race to Dubai and capped a magnificent second full season as a professional for the Titleist Ambassador. McIlroy trusted Titleist from tee to green throughout the season including the Pro V1x ball, 909D2 driver, 906F2 fairway metals, ZM forged irons, Vokey Design pitching wedge, Vokey Design Spin Milled sand and lob wedges and Scotty Cameron Studio Select Fastback putter.
Elsewhere, Pro V1 loyalist Marcus Both trusted the performance of the Pro V1x to capture the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open on the Asian Tour with a final round 5-under 67 and one shot margin of victory. On the Australasian Tour, Pro V1x loyalist Aaron Townsend finished on 21-under par to win the Cellarbrations NSW PGA Championship ahead of fellow Titleist golf ball loyalists Michael Wright and Scott Arnold as Titleist secured a 1-2-3 finish. These victories take the 2009 Titleist golf ball win count to 149 across the major worldwide professional Tours. This compares to 26 for the nearest competitor and is more than all other golf ball competitors combined.
Another European Tour victory and Order of Merit crown for a Pro V1 loyalist, an all Pro V1 top five at the European Tour’s premier event and the constant flow of victories for Titleist Pro V1 players worldwide acts as further proof that the game’s elite prefer the matchless performance of Titleist.
Boundy Claims Hong Kong Open in 1-2 Finish For Titleist Full Line Players
Titleist Ambassadors Gregory Bourdy and Rory McIlroy trust Titleist equipment from tee to green to top the leaderboard in Asia
Gregory Bourdy captured his third European Tour title at the Hong Kong Golf Club shooting a final round 3-under par 67 to hold off fellow full line Titleist player Rory McIlroy by two shots. Bourdy’s 19-under par total of 261 was enough to hold off a weekend surge from McIlroy, who fired weekend rounds of 65 and 64 to finish in second place on 17-under par. McIlroy’s third top five finish in three weeks raises him to the top of the inaugural Race to Dubai rankings going into the Dubai World Championships while Bourdy’s victory sees him climb into the top-60 of the rankings and also claim his place at the season ending event.
Bourdy trusted the superior feel of Titleist from tee to green for his victory, including the iconic Pro V1, 909D2 driver, 909F2 fairway metal, 585.H utility metal, new MB irons, Vokey Design Spin Milled sand and lob wedges and Scotty Cameron putter. As well as being the choice of the top two finishers Hong Kong, Titleist was also the most played ball with 93 players compared to 18 for the nearest competitor, and also topped the counts for irons and wedges respectively.
Among the equipment trusted by Bourdy in claiming victory was the latest iron offering from Titleist, the forged MB. Featuring classic looks and superior shot control for the highly skilled golfer, the Titleist MB irons have been designed using feedback from Titleist’s stable of Tour players, and their superior feel and workability has quickly put them into the winners circle.
McIlroy also trusted Titleist from tee to green for his runners-up finish in Hong Kong, which sees him climb to the top of the Race to Dubai rankings with just one event remaining. McIlroy’s equipment included the Pro V1x, 909D2 driver, 906F2 fairway metals, ZM irons, Vokey Design pitching wedge, Spin Milled sand and lob wedges and Scotty Cameron Studio Select Fastback putter. The precision and playability of Titleist throughout McIlroy’s bag has helped him claim eleven top-5 finishes this year including victory at the Dubai Desert Classic, as he looks to emulate fellow Titleist Ambassador Robert Karlsson who was crowned Europe’s #1 player in 2008.
An impressive victory for Titleist ambassador Gregory Bourdy takes the 2009 worldwide win count for Titleist golf balls to 146, more than five times the nearest competitor with 26 and more than all other brands combined, proving once again that the game’s elite continue to opt for the matchless performance of Titleist.

How to Choose the right Golf Ball
When deciding what golf ball suits you, consider:
Your Level of Play
If you are a beginner, or lose a lot of golf balls, then buying budget balls is the best thing to do. These are often packaged in 15 ball boxes and are a hard durable ball that will generally go further when you hit them. The only draw back of this ball is that it is very lively off of the club face and when it comes to chipping and putting can lack some of the soft feel that some golfers prefer.
The top players in the world all use soft golf balls. Up until about 4 years ago the cover of the ball was actually soft enough to mark with your finger nail and marked very easily when miss hit. This meant that only the best ball strikers, or golfers with more money than sense, would use them. These days the covers on these balls are very durable and the ball will spin and stop very quickly on and around the greens.
Harder Balls
Harder golf balls are perfect for the golfer who doesn’t lose too many balls but could do with more distance off the tee. These balls are not as hard as the budget type, but are durable and offer some feel around the green although they still won’t stop very quickly on landing.
Average Ball
If you want the combination of distance, feel and durability then balls such as the Titleist NXT Tour, the Callaway Hex 2 or the Strata Tour Straight are ideal. These are all what I call a medium ball giving the golfer consistent performance in all areas.
Soft Balls
The leading balls in this category are Titleist Pro V1, Callaway Hex, Strata Tour Ace, Hogen Apex Tour and the Maxfli M3. These balls are manufactured to the highest specification and quality and every golfer could play and enjoy them. They are however very expensive at about £10 for 3 balls if you are a bit wayward with your shots then it could cost a fortune in golf balls.
Whichever ball you choose, try to stick with that ball every time you play. You will get used to the feel and performances of the ball, which in turn will help, play more consistent golf.
The History of the Golf Ball
Throughout the history of golf the golf ball is the most used piece of equipment in the game. From the very first wooden balls followed by the feathery to the latest 4 piece, high energy core, tungsten weighted, titanium, super thin covered, go further go straighter last forever golf ball, advances in science and the materials used in manufacturing has taken that little white thing to a new level of performance.
There are various kind of golf balls available depending on your requirements. You may want to hit the ball longer distances with less effort on your tee or iron shots or you may want to have better control on the greens. For every kind of shot that you want to play you can be assured that there is a golf ball that will suit the needs of the shot.
The Number One Ball in Golf is said to be the Titleist Golf Balls. Titleist are renowned all over the world for their products of superior performance and quality. You will be able to find a huge selection of Titleist golf balls at Golfbuyitonline including Titleist Pro V1X golf balls, Titleist PTS Roll golf balls, Titleist NXT Extreme golf balls and many more.
