Mizuno to the Rescue!

Putting feel to the top of the design agenda, Mizuno has released four new irons and a rescue iron, claiming that its engineers have set new benchmarks for sound and vibration.  Research undertaken by Mizuno engineers found that vibration is one of the “key human criteria” for evaluating feel.

The new irons are the Mizuno MP-52 Irons, Mizuno MP-62 Irons, Mizuno MX-100 Irons, Mizuno MX-200 Irons and the Mizuno MX Fli-Hi Rescue Iron.

The Mizuno MP-52 is the perfect club for a balance of shot-making and forgiveness.  The central impact bar ensures sensational feel and feedback while the pocket cavity is hidden at address, so it is clean on the eye.  The set consists of #3 Iron to Pitching Wedge and is available in right and left hand.

The Mizuno MP-62 is inspired by Luke Donald’s specs and is a “tour ready” design that is based on the most requested adjustments and prototypes in Mizuno’s tour workshops.  Basically, this iron is primarily an example of what more tour players like in an iron.  Minimal offset and a versatile soleplate ensures crisp ball striking.  The set consists of #3 Iron to Pitching Wedge and is available in right hand only.

Mizuno MX-100 Irons feature a re-engineered “ultra pocket cavity” which pushes the COG low to help you get the ball up in the air, while the massive hitting area provides excellent stability on less pure strikes.  The Y-Tune pad gives a bigger hitting area and a lot more consistency.  MX-100 Irons are perfect for golfers who are keen to start improving their iron play.  The set consists of #3 Iron to Sand Wedge in the men’s variety and #6 to Sand Wedge in the women’s variety.

With the Mizuno MX-200 Irons you’ll find a Y-shaped reinforcement pad which matches your mishits.  This takes a large sweet area and makes it more effective by extending it toe-wards by 5% (compared to the MX-25).  Mizuno engineers have found that’s where the majority of amateurs make their mishits.  An added bonus is the stunning one-piece forged design, which looks pretty neat and tidy.  The set consists of #3 Iron to Pitching Wedge and is available in right and left hand.

Dump your #3, #4 or 5# irons and instead use the Mizuno MX Fli-Hi Rescue Iron.  This club is high-flying and soft landing which also includes the new T-Tune technology to help with your bad shots.  The graphite option is available in right hand only, whereas the steel version is available in right and left hand.

Callaway Golf FT Hybrid Rescue Woods

If you’re looking for a new fairway, why not have a look at the Callaway FT Fairway Woods. A stainless steel face and body combine with a tungsten-infused sole to optimise the centre of gravity and increase the moment of inertia for superior forgiveness. The FT Fairway Wood is engineered for performance, which is exactly what you’ll get from this fairway. Callaway’s OptiFit System enables you to customise your club to fit your individual needs by giving you the choice of two centre of gravity locations: Draw for promoting a draw or reducing a slice/fade and Neutral for maximum workability.

Callaway are hoping that a conventional hosel will give it a broad appeal. The design of the hosel is integral to the balance, feel and power of a club. Modern hosels are designed to place as little mass as possible over the top of the striking face of the club, which lowers the centre of gravity of the club for better distance. The hosel allows our engineers to add loft without increasing face progression for more confidence.

So if you’re looking for a fairway wood to help with distance then look no further than the FT Fairway Woods from Callaway.
